  • Can’t select text, ever

    Try dragging to select text in an email in this app. You can’t select more than half of a sentence without the app thinking you’re doing a swipe gesture to switch to the next email. This drives me absolutely insane.

  • Glitchy, inconsistent, unreliable

    I’ve been using the platform for over two years and will soon replace it. While the blocking features offered when using the paid version are good in theory, they aren’t super effective and you must reblock often - so not quite worth the money with the rest of the platform running the way it does. I have had constant problems with messages being ‘hidden’ (not appearing at top of stack) for email convos running in consecutive back and forths, trouble with type size defaulting back from what I’ve set, and searches for email are cumbersome under their current system of having to use “-“ for each folder or subsection, since global searches are incapable of finding messages otherwise across folders. In addition, in all the years I’ve used it, customer service has failed to synch systems across my phone and computer making for constant loss of time and money throughout. Super disappointed.

    I use this app for my personal email. It has a lot of business features i dont use. But it does great at sorting and organizing my inbox making sue i see the important things and filter out the junk mail. The AI summary in the paid version is great. The desktop version supports Gmail labels, however the mobile version do not. Its a big parity problem. I wish they’d add it. Otherwise a great app and service.

    Spark used to be my all time favorite email client. It had perfected everything people want from an email client. Now I constantly get ads for more paid features, I get half functionality from the app (if I try to block someone I have to apparently pay to upgrade?). It is riddled with “AI” features that are upgrades and also, as with nearly every other AI feature to date, is rather useless. Get rid of the spam, ads, upsells, and half baked AI. For someone who has paid for this app and still get upsell pitches every time I log in the app, it’s not good. I would not recommend Spark anymore and I have moved on to the good old Gmail app.

  • Great app but it’s AI email writing special sauce is lacking

    Amazing clean interface, intuitive actions; fully developed apps on MacOS and iOS; very receptive development team; add ins to common storage and task apps; and the AI email summaries, split into paragraphs and proof read work well. The big issue is that even with personalized AI looking at my sample emails, the AI still inserts corporate jargon where I seldom if ever use any. If possible, please make a “business” option to check for use of those phrases. Otherwise just use standard English. Plus even though I put terms like “my” and “your” as prompts the AI confuses these responsibilities when composing a draft. The personalized AI does sound a little more like me, but just a little and most times I spend as much time fixing AI stuff than just writing the email myself. Also please incorporate solid calendar integration and read receipts for all platforms of the app.

    then they added paid tiers. It seems like no matte how many times i swipe to unsubscribe it doesn’t work. Also, it seems like every time they do an update (which is often compared to most apps), I get logged out of all my email accounts. Bring back the old Spark 😭

  • Great if you love AI and can stomach the bugs

    Unfortunately, I think I may have to stop using this email app. As they release more and more AI and team features that I don’t want and cannot use, simple bugs that I’ve raised through their feedback tool are not addressed and continue to plague my use of the app, and I think I’m done. I think it’s time to say goodbye.

  • Can’t keep up with everything.

    Let’s be honest, this is likely more of a me problem, and less of a Spark problem. And it might be that I’m not using Spark properly. I’ve been using spark for a number of years now as my default mail client. But I started to fall behind on important career related things. So I moved that particular email over to the Apple Mail app and kept all my other email accounts here in spark. But lately, I’ve been missing other emails, particularly time sensitive ones related to warranty claims. I received an email from one of those today. They had emailed me on the 16th, and sent me a follow up today. I didn’t get the notification for the email on the 16th until today, and the email from the 19th didn’t show up until after I had seen the previous email. It’s also impossible to follow long support conversations. Again, that’s probably me, but it feels new… so maybe not. Either way, I’m going to start shopping around for a new app, maybe one that’s more accessible to folks with neuro issues like myself.
