Beschreibung

Fort Solis is a riveting story-driven thriller on the Red Planet An experience envisioned by the developers: A uniquely singular cinematic experience! The story is told across four chapters. Like a Netflix series, Fort Solis can be binged in one intense session, or played chapter by chapter like an episodic TV show. Welcome to Fort Solis Responding to an unusual emergency call from a remote mining base, Jack arrives at the dark and desolate Fort Solis. With storm warnings imminent, he heads inside to make desperate contact. As the night grows longer, events escalate, spiral out of control, and the mystery of what happened to the crew begins to reveal itself. The storm is approaching, limiting Jack’s escape as he looks to hold out until morning arrives. Immersive Storytelling Fort Solis looks to deliver a high-fidelity experience designed to completely immerse the player in the cast and their long night. With performances from Roger Clark, Troy Baker, and Julia Brown, Fort Solis looks to deliver emotion, fear, empathy, and much more with every chapter. Supporting the core story are additional narrative instances such as audio logs, surveillance footage, and parts of the past that lead to present events. Accompanying those are video logs recorded by the crew detailing the events before and after that night the alarm was triggered at Fort Solis… Grounded by the Visuals! Fort Solis brings players the next level of details and facial and body animations. With the help of Unreal Engine 5.2, Fort Solis’ realistic universe is brought to life! An Isolated Mining Complex The skeleton of Fort Solis is built above and below ground. The base contains a variety of locations each with their own surface and sub-surface levels. Players will be able to explore the isolated stormy surface, the creepy service tunnels absent of light, or the multiple departments that help Fort Solis function on a day-to-day basis such as Engineering, Medical, and Communications. As the story unfolds, locations can easily be revisited for additional story context or continue to serve as a backdrop to the fate that awaits Jack with each passing hour.

  • Lags, Unplayable

I bought the game despite the many other reviews saying it lags, thinking my M1 Macbook Pro bought handle it but, alas, it did not. Lagged to point of unplayable. I was bummed! I wanted to fall in love with this game.
  • Roadblock in the First 5 minutes

I'm frustrated. Got to the point in the first part of the story where Jack needs to swing on a cable to advance. Shouldn't be difficult, but instead, Jack just swings one way, then returns to center. Swings the other way, but the "pendulum" stops in the middle. So I'm stuck. Disappointed that I apparently have wasted my money.

I had high hopes but this gae is way to short, very linear in that you do it ONE WAY only, and I didn't even understand what the story was here! just not worth it.

Played on a M2 Pro (16" MBP) and didn't notice too many performance issues, maybe a stutter or two here and there. The environment is super immersive and the voice acting is superb.
  • A bit of a nightmare... unintentionally

Either this is a garbage port or Apple Silicon is just not ready for primetime. 32g of RAM and a full un-binned 38 GPU core M2 Max and I'm getting 20-35 FPS at 1440p with medium quality textures and MetalFX set to quality. Now this game doesn't NEED to run at 60 FPS to be enjoyable, honestly it feels like the devs have baked input lag into the code, but my god what Mac do I need to buy to run decently at a decent preset? An M38 ULTRA MAX SUPRIM? This game runs just fine on some pretty medicre PC cards WITHOUT upscaling, do I just have a garbage Mac? FPS and the medium preset on Apple's second most powerful system aside, the biggest issue with this game is the stuttery mess that occurs every time the game loads a portion of the map. We're talking multi-second zero-FPS stuttery jank. And it's not like it loads a portion of the map every 30 minutes or so, but like every five minutes. It is simply UNACCEPTABLEW that with 32 GIGS of VRAM, MEDIUM TEXTURES, and UPSCALING FROM 1080P, that any level of stutter should occur, much less this strokey nightmare. Hey Devs, can you not pre-compule shaders on a Mac? How do I get a refund?

Glitchy, studdering video. This is on an M1 Mac. A waste of $25.
  • Incredibly Glitchy on a Mac Studio

After three (3) crashes I was finally able to get the program to remain booted after making some tweaks to the display options. However, even then the video is sporadic and studders frequently. The most disappointing aspect is I am unable to get past the first few minutes of the game as it appears a glitch prevents the main character from swinging back and forth on a cable to enter Solaris. I'm experiencing these issues on a Mac Studio configured with a Studio Display, M1 Ultra chipset, 128 GB of memory, 8 TB hard drive, and running the latest version of Sanoma (14.1). Unlike other games on my computer, the "Game Mode On" notification does not appear when booting up this game. Overall, I am extremely disappointed in this game's performance.

I really enjoyed this game and the story. The story will build on from each chapter and the enviroment will give context on the story. I also love the atomosphere of the game, its so desolate. The only reason I took one star away was because of one particular bug, whenever I would walk sometimes my character would stop for no reason (even while I would hold "W").
