SoundCloud: Discover New Music

Like others have said, having dark mode ONLY with no way to switch back to light mode is ridiculous. Light theme is what used to be the default and there’s is utterly no excuse to NOT have a toggle except “users will have only dark mode and they will like it”. The sheer white letters against the pitch black background is a strain on the eyes, and the entire color shift is a confusing mess no one asked for.

I downloaded SoundCloud in late August of 2023, because I had seen many videos of people making their own mashups of songs that inspired me to make them too. I also saw that some of my favorite artists that I look up to a lot like Ashnikko had gotten their start on this app, and that it is a very good way to launch your career in music. I started to make 30 second mashups and would upload them to my account. They got almost little to no views or attention, so I began to stop making them. I then remembered how many people had been successful by making nightcore songs, so I tried it out. The first nightcore song that I uploaded was a sped up version of “Want It All” by Ashnikko. I instantly got over 100 views in just a few days. I realized that I loved to make these songs, and I began to make more of sped up versions of songs that I loved. The first viral song I uploaded was a sped up version of “Favourite Toy” by Jazmin Bean. In just 2-3 weeks, I had over 1,000 views and so many likes. More people began to listen to my music, and I began to grow a following on my account. I now have over 50 followers and my songs are in so many sped up playlists now. My sped up song “Btch With The Gun” by Jazmin Bean just hit over 7,000 views, and I am so happy and grateful for every single one of my followers, likes, reposts, and views. I never thought I would make it this far on a single app but here I am! Also, this app is very safe for the most part, there are definitely some people on here that are very rude and ignorant, but for the most part, there are so many kind people on this app that I have met. One problem I had though is that whenever someone mentions me in a comment, it shows my email, which I hate, maybe you could program it to tag the username that people mainly use? Other than that, I recommend this app so much, it’s a great way to launch your own music career. And, if it’s taking a while to get attention and you think you should give up, don’t. Remember, this takes time, and I promise you, your career will grow so fast and so much in no time. 💜

please god. PLEASE. GOD. give me back light mode. It hurts my eyes to look at dark mode. I didn’t sign up for this. Why would you make it all of a sudden only dark mode ? With no option to return to normal? I beg of you SoundCloud gods… let me have my light mode back. I actually cannot use SoundCloud until you give me this ability (an ability I’ve had the entire time ive had the app until now suddenly??). PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE. Ok love you

I don’t like leaving negative reviews but.. They took the option for light mode away on iOS so now I can’t see the songs or words on the screen. Very disappointing considering I bought the subscription to have a better experience, but now the app is unusable for me. I keep trying to find a way to fix it but every time I’m met with “We currently only support Dark Mode on iOS” when this was not the case just yesterday. If you’re going to add dark mode to an app, just make it an OPTION and not MANDATORY. Please bring the light mode option back ):
