Beschreibung

Permission Slip helps you take back control of the data companies have about you. It’s no secret that companies are collecting, buying and selling data about us. Search through hundreds of companies and start taking action. We’ll show you what data companies collect so you can set boundaries and regain control over your personal information. We’ll act as your agent and demand the removal of your data, or request it not be sold for profit behind your back. Tell companies to stop selling your data We’ll file requests on your behalf, ordering companies to stop selling your personal information. Delete your data with a tap When it’s time to delete your data from a company’s database, Permission Slip will handle the requests for you. Save time with auto requests Set it and forget it. We’ll continuously reach out to dozens of companies that broker your data and tell them to stop. Permission Slip was created by Consumer Reports, an independent, nonprofit that works with consumers to create a fair and just marketplace. We advocate for laws and company practices that put consumers first.

This app really doesn't do much more than I can do.
  • Time Consuming

App was a lot of work and most key features simply led to a page that said, “submit on your own”, because the app couldn’t do it. I still used it until today when sign-in no longer worked, as if I’d never used the app. and data had been deleted.

Sign up, get unsolicited emails. Classic hidden-if-any-way-to opt-out rouse. I had expected better from Consumer Reports.
  • Broken Sign in with Apple

While I Think that the motivation and idea for this app is fantastic, it does absolutely nothing when I attempt to sign in with Apple. After using my pass code to confirm the sign in, the app merely returns back to the initial sign in screen. I am willing to give this app the benefit of the doubt and assume it works better with other sign in options. But since sign in with Apple doesn't work at all I can only give it one star.
  • Doesn’t seem to do anything

I am all for the the idea of this app. I have previously sent several requests manually to companies, and would love to have something that makes the process easier. However the app’s requests don’t seem to work. I had sent in multiple requests several months ago, of which one was successful, two got responses from the company for more info, and the rest are in infinite pending limbo. Compare this to manual requests which get responses within a day. I’d love it if it worked but so far it seems like placebo.
  • Notes and Multiple email addresses problem

Great idea but - could/should help keep track of which companies I’ve requested to opt-out from. Can't be totally automated I realize if I opt-out via a website but a notes area or a button to indicate I've done the web form on X date would help my memory - I second the reviewer who points out that sending a bundle of my email addresses together is actually the opposite of helpful if (when) the receiver combines the addresses into one identity. The solution seems simple though: Send each address independently, as if a separate person is sending, rather than "bundled" as a single request.
  • Great product, but one odd thing

I enjoyed this app/service, and the fact that there’s no charge makes it a great place to start taking back some of your privacy. One odd thing I just noticed: I got a feedback request email from the app. When I clicked to give feedback, it took me to a Google Docs form. Google? I mean, data mining is kind of a thing everywhere, but isn’t the purpose of this app to encourage people to remove their data from organizations that have less than stellar privacy protections?
  • Fabulous app!

This is such a handy app especially since you can’t even explore a website without adding your email!! This does all the work for you by sending a report, telling the company to track you, and deleting the data they collected.
  • Love it!
