I have been a subscriber of their premium products which includes Scanning, Privacy and a VPN. I received an email providing a glimpse of my data. It contained the WRONG NAME and WRONG birthdate. I never provided either. I asked that this be corrected and here is their latest reply: The digital footprint report provides a glimpse into what information is associated with the information you provide. To see where that information is and how to correct it, you must subscribe to our Identity Theft Protection program. You can see more about it here. -Malwarebytes Identity Theft Protection
  • Trouble installing Ver 2.1

I installed Malwarebytes Browser Guard on Firefox and Safari many months ago. It appears to work well in Firefox. However, in Safari the question is... how do I update it to the current version? There are 4 Browser Guard extensions added to Safari Settings. All 4 are ver 2.0.1, yet the App Store indicates the latest version released 10/25/23 is ver 2.1... and after opening it, it claims the new version is installed and active. However, it was NOT installed. The version in my Applications folder is still ver 2.0.1. This is very confusing.

MBG conflicts with Malwarebytes DT app? Reboot seems to stop updater errors every 20 minutes.

  • Doesn't do anything

I've always been a fan of malwarebytes, it is the first security product I've ever bought. But this extension literally doesn't do anything. I checked to see if it was on when I loaded a web page to see 5 (FIVE) banner ads (without even scrolling down). Doesn't even block youtube ads which I consider to be the most basic function of adblockers.

I give it 2 stars for now. I am a long time fan of Malwarebytes. I'm a paid subscriber for 20 years on Windows. I recently got a Macbook Air and promptly installed Malwarebytes, Privacy VPN and also the Browser Guard for Safari. But I can't tell that Browser Guard does anything in Safari. I mean there is an icon, but clicking it just shows the website name and that it's on. Does it do anything? And if it does, how can I tell? Edit: It does nothing on Safari on Mac. It flagged a website and prevented me from going to the site on my Windows PC on Firefox, so I checked the same site on Mac/Safari - nothing, no warnings, it let me go to the site. So I removed it from my Mac. I still have Malwarebytes scanner on my Mac and I don't know if it does anything either.

I have Malewarebytes Premium on my iMac and love it. Was excited to see the browser guard for safari. I downloaded it and ran into problems. I got the beach ball that took forever to get rid of then my mac froze. I couldn't even get forcequit to open. I had to shut the computer down manually and restart to get the browser guard off of my mac.

Big fan of Malwarebytes but.....Running Premium on multiple Mac devices but the Safari Ext is not ready for Prime Time. Twitchy and blocks way too many commonly used legit sites - so much so that I simply uninstalled it rather than spending half my day unlocking sites I go to every single day. Needs work. I am sure it will eventually be on par with MB Premium features - for now though ...it is road kill.

Malwarebytes Browser Guard works good on my Mac, no problems. I also run the Malwarebytes Premium for Mac. Very staisfied with them working hand in hand.
