Easily monitor and keep track of your favorite stocks and investments from your desktop's menu bar. Uptick allows adding a massive number of stocks and rotates these stocks in the menu bar providing a simple and quick glimpse of changes. Set alerts for high and low target prices as well as percent changes. Add the shares you own and the price paid to see market value, day's gains, and total gains in the menu. A simple, essential app for every investor. Uptick displays one stock symbol at a time, automatically rotating between each selected symbol that has been added.   • Missing lots of tickers

    I wanted this one to work. The price is reasonable and the UI is minimal (which is good) but I can't get it to show many of the items that I currently have in Apple Stocks and that I know work with Yahoo's stock API (before they broke the free access). There's no NYSE Composite and I can't find many Fidelity (FCNTX), Vanguard (VFINX), BlackRock (LIHAX), Nationwide (MWAMX), Franklin (MQIFX) mutual funds. There's also several Cryto symbols that it can't find either (BTC-USD, ETH-USD). I can't use this app if I can't track the tickers that I need.

    Love this app. So nice to be able to control not only the list of stocks I'm following, but further specify which ones rotate visibly on the "ticker tape" at the top of screen. Very valuable. I also like that you can set up alerts for each stock. Wish they'd permit easy edit/redo/adjustments of alerts when they do get triggered, though. Wonderful app.

  • No crypto

    The app itself is fine. It's lightweight and reasonably simple to setup. Once the price and number of shares owned are entered, the applet provides a summary of the current value (this is a useful feature). There are additional numbers that I imagine are the daily increase on holdings but that isn't very clear and I couldn't find any instructions that outline what all the numbers are. One major limitation of this app is that it doesn't have any cryptocurrencies at all. If I'm going to have to open the web browser for crypto, I might as well not use the app. This is going to limit the customer base unless addressed.

    This is really close to being usable for me, but I bought it to only think about stocks when I want to. Unfortunately you can't disable the ticker in the menubar - it constantly refreshes and changes. You also cannot remove the four indices. This would be perfect if I could a) remove those indices, and b) have the option to only have a clickable icon versus live info.

    Not sure where Uptick scrapes it's rates from or how often it actually refreshes but they are not remotely reliable/accurate. Emailed support ~6 months ago and while I got a response that they would look into it. Stopped using until re-installing on a new machine and still inaccurate as ever.

  • Good App, needs Improvements

    I downloaded the add and loaded it on my iMac. Its a good app, small footprint in the menu bar and real time quotes. I do have several recommendations: 1. Be able to pick which symbols will be displayed in the menu bar. I would like to see the major indicies in the menu bar but when opened, I can see my entire portfolio. 2. The ability to change the scroll speed. It should be made so the rate at which the symbols rotate through in the menu bar can be adjusted. It sems slow 3. There are four preloaded indices. These can neither be modified or deleted. This should be a feature 4. It does not show the futures market. After the close, it only shows the closing percentage. I think if these changes were made, this app would be great!!!

  • Uptick is AWESOME, but there's one thing missing...

    This is almost perfection, but one thing is preventing me from making this 5 stars. There should be a way to also track many of the major crypto's as well.
