Beschreibung

The legendary iOS compass app is now available for Apple Watch! Pro Compass replicates the look and feel of classic pocket compass hardware in use since the 1800s. The app uses advanced graphics technologies (normally reserved for games) to render 3D floating compass hardware for realistic operation. Pro Compass offers true and magnetic compass modes using a damped rosette-style compass ring. Local sun and moon position are shown on the compass ring and continually updated. Pro Compass also displays location and altitude, and contains a built-in two-axis inclinometer that drives two independent bubble levels and a bullseye level.  New in Pro Compass for Watch version 2 is a map screen and waypoint manager. You can add waypoints on the map or at your current location, and view waypoints on the compass ring to visualize their bearing from your current location. Pro Compass has settings for compass mode (true or magnetic, degrees or mils), distance/altitude units (feet or meters), and position format (decimal degrees, degrees-minutes-seconds, MGRS, USNG, UTM, UTM-B, and Maidenhead Locator System). The app has six color schemes, including two night vision modes - midnight red and luminescent green. Pro Compass for Watch is recommended for Apple Watch Series 5 and later (including Ultra). Apple Watch Series 4 and older do not have a compass sensor and will not show compass data. On older devices, the app uses the device's gyro sensor to measure rotation. You can twist the watch's digital crown to adjust and calibrate the gyro to the sun position, moon position, or a known bearing. Using these references, the "gyro compass" is able to give bearing. The calibration can be repeated as often as desired to give accurate results. Accuracy note: Pro Compass reports accuracy from the magnetometer sensor in your watch. To improve results, operate Pro Compass away from magnets, electronics, or sources of electro-magnetic interference, including car dashboards, aircraft cockpits, metal structures, and other devices. Developer note: like all our apps, we plan to continually improve and evolve Pro Compass for Watch. Please contact us with feature requests, suggestions, and general feedback. We'd love to hear what you're doing with the app!

I had to unpair my watch. This app didn’t reinstall! Go to app store on iPhone to download and reinstall and it says purchased. Must be downloaded from your watch. Not intuitive at all.

The app is fantastic- the problem I was having was user error (on my part). When you actually read the instructions (which are well written and easy to follow) this app becomes the best Compass you’ll ever have. Well worth the cost. I highly recommend this.

Nice, works great. Inexpensive and no subscription. I got the bundle for my watch and wish I had it gotten for my phone also.

This is a functional app that also looks great on your watch. It does so much more than the basic Apple compass. And the price is for purchase, not a subscription. There’s nothing not to like.

Have the latest iWatch with cellular... app crashes. Contacted app support, they were quick to answer/unaware of any issue(s). I've power cycled watch/deleted and reinstalled -- no go. I'm looking forward to a fix.

I understand the Developer believes the Location Permissions is an ios issue, however this is the ONLY app in 10 years that does this. It is a characteristic of only this app. After a month of not changing ANY location permissions, this app is unallowed again. Am I the only person having this problem ??? works great when it works, however it continues to have a long standing problem of forgetting its location permissions. you go to use it, and it doesn’t know the location any more. just says “waiting for location”. you have to reallow it use your position, and know how to do that. can’t be done on watch, must be done on phone. the frustration of going to use it, just to find out it’s got amnesia again renders it useless. would be great if this were fixed. it is the only app I use that does this.

I feel really ripped off by this company and this application. If a person digs deep enough you can find the statement at the App Store that says, in essence, it doesn’t work with an Apple Watch 4. One can point the watch in a known direction, and then use the watch bezel to dial in that direction. Then the Compass will function. Right up until such time as you touch the bezel again, in a place where you don’t know what’s what, have no idea what direction is what. And then you’re screwed. If your life depends on this Compass, you will probably die.
  • It could be useful

It doesn’t seem to be using the watch gps and there’s no calibration option. You basically try to find one of the 4 directions and spin the crown until you set this direction as close as you think it’s right. I guess it could be helpful if you get lost and you have nothing but the watch and you trying to move in a straight. It be nice to have a lock button so that after you set the compass, it disables/lock the crown button so you don’t accidentally spin it.
