  • SO GLITCHY

I echo what others have said. The app is so buggy. Not all of the activities can be completed on a touchscreen and yet you have to do those activities with every lesson. The worst are the “follow the example” ones (where no example is provided) and the ones that require you to tap words that are located too close together so when you tap one, it highlights the wrong word every time. I downloaded the app because I was running into bugs with the web version as well. Thankfully the microphone on my phone is better than the microphone on my laptop, but it’s really frustrating to have to go back and forth to finish each lesson. I also believe I was placed in too high a level because there is no way to look up words you don’t know, nor do they explain why you’re answers are wrong. I have to rely on online dictionaries to even understand what is being asked of me. Between the language barrier and the buggy format of the lessons, I would not recommend this app to anyone. Rosetta Stone has been in the game for so long. It’s crazy they allow this app to be so crappy.
  • I can’t hear the lessons

I downloaded this excited to start learning and there is no audio. Seriously? I paid good money for this course and I can’t even hear it?

    - I can only get audio to work when I’m using external headphones. - Some lessons/activities are difficult or impossible to mark complete. For example, an activity that is just watching a video will not be marked as complete if you watch the video full screen. - Icons like the next arrow are surprisingly difficult to tap (the hit box is in a weird place) - Activities that ask me to repeat what I hear don’t work correctly. Instead of playing the audio first, the microphone immediately activates. I can cancel it, play the audio manually and then hit record, but it’s very time consuming. - The app can feel very unresponsive, like long delays between hitting a button and seeing or hearing the effect. This list isn’t exhaustive but I got tired of writing out specific issues. The actual language content I’m learning is great, but clearly this app is used for many different languages so it doesn’t make sense to rate it based on the learning content. For a company as big as Rosetta Stone I’m surprised by how bad this app is and how painful it is to use it. I really hope you dedicate some time to making some user experience improvements. I’m using an iPhone X.

The app during course moments kept on crashing and freezing during the exercise making me less motivated to study. Fix bugs!

  • Update modern screens

Hi, can you please update to include native support for iPad? It’s really 1990 when you see iPhone screens on an iPad. Looking at your history you’ve been fixing bugs and improving stability for quite a while now. When is optimization coming up next?
  • Glitchy

For all the money spent by individuals and organizations, you’d think they’d spend abit more on an app that actually works. Mine is perpetually frozen, will never download activities and is just overall glitchy even after rebooting, redownloading etc

iPhone version seems glitchy, sometimes buttons are missing, vocabulary definitions are missing, one exercise seemed stuck in a loop and would not end.

I have a feeling even “Corporate learners” would choose to use other language learning apps to work on their language skills probably because they’re cheaper or sometimes free. A customer’s personal enjoyment is based on their comfort level with the App of their choosing.
