  • Concerns About Historical Representation, Game Crashing and Request for Refund

    I love this game and have played MANY hours of it. The problem is with this screen crash that happens at loading. It is very frustrating and troubling. Maybe it’s the Universe telling me to quit wasting my time on games and make a real impact in the world. Nevertheless, I still want it to work. I shared some more serious issues with Aspyr as it pertained to cultural misrepresentation. See below, as I put this in the body of the email: Dear Support Team, I am writing to express significant concerns regarding the historical accuracy and representation in the expansion pack I recently purchased. Unfortunately, the product did not match the advertised content. Specifically, the depiction of African leaders and other historical figures is misleading and culturally inappropriate. For instance, the promotional graphics displayed a Black man representing African leadership, but the actual game features Queen Nzinga instead. Moreover, the portrayal of King Ramses as a white man and Queen Nefertiti as a Middle Eastern woman does not align with their true African heritage. These inaccuracies contribute to cultural misrepresentation and perpetuate stereotypes, which I find deeply troubling. This situation not only undermines the educational potential of the game but also appears to support outdated and racially insensitive narratives. Given these issues, I must insist on immediate corrective actions to align the game's content with historical facts and respectful representation. Additionally, I request a full refund of the $30 paid for the expansion pack, as it failed to deliver as promised. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your swift response to rectify these issues or process a refund.

    After working well for many months and truly enjoying playing Civilization VI, with a single OS update, all worlds have come to a tragic end. The game could be great if it worked.

    was a great game to use on the iPad or Phone, still not fixed after the latest iOS update had issues with the game.

    There's a bug for most updated version that means the game won't even open for me. Should be an easy fix but bug has been active for 3+ months. Don't waste your money

    just do a google search on the “abnormal exit” issue people have been experiencing with the latest update. The game no longer works on the ipad (including mine). This issue seems to have been going on for about 3 months which is unreal. I would question whether it’s worth the risk to buy the game and have apple come out with a new update that causes another issue with this game and just never gets fixed. It’s obviously not a priority for them. Was a fun game when it worked though.

    The app hasn’t opened since the most recent Apple update and they don’t seem to be in an hurry to release a patch to fix it. Don’t waste your money.

    I think a class action lawsuit for breach of contract is in order. No redress from Apple or Aspyr. Options for refund do not include this game. A tragic turn for the father of the 4X genre. Sid. You should be ashamed.
