I started collecting vinyl last year and just got this app to track what albums I have. I love that you can customize your categories and usually when you use the barcode scan function all of the info will be correct. I use this to track my old CD collection now too and it works very well.
  • Nice and Easy, BUT……..

The application is nice, the appearance is good, you get to scanning and then……you hit the limit, saw nothing in the documentation about a limit and then you have to upgrade $$$$s. As such, back to an excel spread sheet.
  • Makes keeping up with collection easy

We were buying duplicates. This makes it easy not to keep doing duplicates.
  • A must have for any music collector. Great!

There are few apps that I consider essential and that provide high value to the user. This is one of them. It does what I need it to do.

I’ve tried many of them and nothing beats the simplicity of Music Buddy! Thank you for a great app!

I use MusicBuddy to catalog my vinyl collection and reference it when I’m looking for used records. I like the export feature! I’m going to organize my collection as listed by MusicBuddy, then print out the exported PDF to put in a notebook. When friends visit they can look in my “Record Collection” notebook for records to listen to!
  • The Best, but one thing…

This is, by far, the best app I’ve used for cataloging my collection. It’s versatile, reliable, and has all the features that I need. I have one suggestion: the ability to sort artist either by last name or by full name. Right now it’s just one globally for the app. So for example, if I have the app set globally to sort last name, first name, then Academy Of St. Martin In The Fields shows up as Fields, Academy of Saint Martin’s in the. Philharmonic orchestra shows up as Orchestra, Philharmonic. If I flip it the other way to full name globally, then Academy Of St. Martin In The Fields is fine, but then Pat Metheny is Pat Metheny and not Metheny, Pat. So being able to set this on an artist by artist basis would be great.
  • Nice app!

I just started using this app so I can keep track of my CD collection. I have probably 600 CD’s an can’t remember them all when diving at the thrift stores. This is very easy to use even if you have some early CDs that don’t have usable barcodes and have to do a search. I don’t know all of the features of the app yet, but it will serve me well.
  • Just what I’ve been waiting for.

My son keeps a spreadsheet with all his vinyl to avoid buying duplicates while browsing in record stores! I’ve never had the energy to do that, but this app does the business perfectly. Any albums with barcodes can be scanned in really quickly, but if not, even searching online gets instant results. It’s highly recommended. No more duplicates!
  • Great But Please Add Discogs

This app has everything the others don’t. It’s excellent at scanning in single and multiple bar codes, the search is excellent, the category and tag system is flexible and even the export is much appreciated - though nothing seems to have an import. The ONE thing that has me looking for another App is the Discogs integration. I want to be able to assess the value of my collection and even sell items if desired. If they added Discogs functionality this would be the go-to app.
