I don't normally write reviews unless an app is especially well made, and HoursTracker is just that. I'm a freelance developer, and after being annoyed with the lack of features (or over abundance of undesired ones) in other time tracking apps, I tried HoursTracker for managing my billable hours with client work. A widget on my Home Screen makes it easy to simply clock in and out (and if you "Pause" instead of stop, it even tracks how much time you've been on a break), a small color-coded icon in the Dynamic Island lets me know the app is running correctly, and a running timer on the Lock Screen shows me how long I've been working for the day. These are simple but invaluable cues that take the work out tracking my time. But what's most impressed me is that, after adding my hourly rate to a given job, HoursTracker keeps track of what I'm making *per second* in real time. It groups entries into logical "Pay Periods" (with roughly estimated tax amounts too!), and allows seamless exporting of data via email or file. This makes it easy to check at a glance that I'm not missing anything when creating invoices. I'm still digging into the various feature available, but even in just using the app's basic functionality, I'm continuously impressed both by how simple and intuitive it is. Fantastic product I'm happy to pay a subscription for.

I like the app very much but please add a section for example “bonus” per week or day or month with comments, because some people recibe bonuses weekely/monthly etc. you can algo add something like to add “per diem” daily or weekly or monthly. Please 🙏

Really wish there was a way to filter or archive older entries. I invoice with a separate service, and it would be helpful to be able to hide the entries I’ve tagged as paid so it just shows the total for the unpaid entries. Instead I have to manually select all the entries that need to be invoiced, export them and enter my email address to generate the summary, just in order to see the total for the recent entries. I don’t want to delete the old entries in case I need them for whatever reason, so hiding them would be great. Otherwise a good, usable app.
  • Same as others why pay?

I’ve had this app for many years and never had an issue. I’m just using it to keep track of babysitting hours 2nd job type stuff. Why would I ever want to pay to keep track??? I wouldn’t so I’m looking for a new app. If I paid that would be more than I make in a few hours of babysitting. No thanks. I don’t recommend especially since you can only save 21 entries.

I really enjoy this app I’ve been on the paid version for a while. I’m an independent contractor and I have repeat clients and different jobs all with the different rates and purposes. Couldn’t be happier and I have all my contracted employees on the app as well; Thanks app developers!
