I use Docs on my phone to write Poetry wherever I am. I can always work off line. It’s easy to use and a life saver.

The docs app is a great choice when you need an efficient typing tool on the phone. The only downfall is if you are using voice over, it’s not the most accessible. besides that it’s a great app.

Can’t select files to delete - must do one at a time. Uses Ctrl when editing a shared document, not right clicking and choosing from a menu. Primitive!!
  • Baffled by poor iPad support and limited functionality

I appreciate the compromises that the developers had to make for the iPhone version of Docs, but I don’t get why the iPad experience is so limited — or why various Google services insist on pushing iPad users to use it over the browser version. (1) The iPad app doesn’t properly use screen real estate! By default, the app renders content with narrow page/text width that leaves GIGANTIC margins on both side of the display in Landscape mode. And the Zoom and Text Width settings in Google Docs are missing in the app. (2) Suggestions and Comments are harder to see/follow on iPad (again, because the app doesn’t actually take advantage of the iPad’s screen real estate in Landscape mode). (3) Formatting options are often either missing or harder to access on the iPad app. (4) Basic document settings (like the document name) are not accessible/editable when you’re viewing a doc because reasons. (5) Can you access version history in the app? Who knows? I’m struggling to see ANY win here for the iPad app. I understand why these design choices make sense for phone screens. But for iPads, Google should just offer the full desktop version in an app wrapper and call it a day.

Google wrecks my hopes of trusting any form of technology, and claiming you don’t doesn’t make it better. SHOW us you don’t.
  • Could be way better.

Wish it had ways to turn off features I don't need like the "@" thing. Crashes often if the doc is longer than 25K words.
