Plan optimal routes or chart your own course using weather, elevation, curves and more. Then navigate safely with voice-guided, turn-by-turn directions that automatically check your route for severe weather. ***Featured in Essential Navigation Apps on the US App Store*** ***As seen on the TODAY show in the Traveling This Summer segment*** “adding to both the safety of the ride and the pleasure of knowing beforehand what to expect” - Florin Tibu, “autoevolution” “I used InRoute for planning six world record attempts. No weather app gives you more information, period.” - Carl Reese, Multiple World Record Holder Key Features (some require inRoute Pro--see below): • Voice guided navigation of up to 150 locations with automatic severe weather alerts* • Optimize waypoint order for fastest time, or manually reorder • Import from XLSX, GPX and KML files • Create custom routes based on weather, elevation and curviness, or build your own route from available alternates on each leg of a route • Interactive charts showing route elevation, curviness, weather (temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind speed/direction, severe weather alerts), and sunrise/sunset times* • Search along a route—the whole route, every x miles/hours, or the next x miles/hours from a place—find gas, hotels, campgrounds or places to eat close to a route • Enter your RV specs to avoid clearance issues and weight restrictions • Set Departure and Layover Times—weather forecasts, road conditions (e.g. congestion), and travel times accurately reflect conditions throughout the trip • Save your favorite routes and places, sync between devices, organize into folders, print via Airprint, and share with family and friends • Easily add places to the map using a Dropped pin, Search, or Contacts • Export routes to Apple Maps, Google Maps, Navigon, and Waze. Some apps use inRoute's "Agenda Nav" feature. See the in-app FAQ for more info. • Export to GPS devices and apps compatible with GPX files • Routes are stored on your device so you can access them even if you lose connection *Weather forecasts are available worldwide. Severe weather alerts are currently available in the US, EU, Canada and Israel. inRoute Pro (for iPhone, iPad, CarPlay & Mac): - $4.99 monthly, or $39.99 annually. 1 week free trial - Create routes with up to 150 locations (8 in free version) - Sync routes and pins between devices - Weather charts/custom routes - Severe weather alerts during navigation (US, Canada, EU areas) - Export/share routes as GPX files - RV routes based on vehicle description Price may vary by location. Purchased pro version of app for RV. I could not enter any specifications. App continues to ask to upgrade to pro version. Paid the monthly and cancelled. Update: went through the app restore process previous purchase and upgrade to no avail several times.
  • Great, but with annoying glitches

I work in the oversize, super load industry. Pretty much everybody I know uses this app because it is the best one for what we do. I have had many conversations with the people at inRoute, and they have made many, if not all of the changes I recommended to improve it. They listen. The one thing that still stands out as an annoyance is when you create a route, and then close the app. When you reopen the app and the route you created, it often tries to reroute you a different way than what you had chosen, or tries to get you to loop around or make u-turns. On some roads you have to figure out how to force the app to go the route that you want. Now, inRoute will tell you that you have to change your settings when you create the route because it will use current Apple Maps information and reroute you if it thinks it needs to or if you chose the wrong transportation method. This should not happen, but it does quite frequently. When a route is created, it needs to stay that way, under all circumstances. If there is a new road closure or detour along the route you created then they should simply have a pop-up window that tells you what the issue is instead of rerouting you automatically. The user should have the option to reroute, not Apple Maps or the inRoute app by default. Specifically, in my industry, we follow permitted routes. These routes are already determined by DOT to be safe, open, and available to us. And when I share this route with other users in my industry and they open up the app even when they select the “adjust” setting when trying to open it, the route still changes the route on us. This is a big glitch because I have had coworkers running with other oversize crews get on the wrong road because of the app making changes by itself. Yes, they should know the route or be able to read a permit, but the app should not change the route - no matter what! This is a big issue in the oversize industry. So, lastly, let me just say inRoute needs to stop this from happening and allow the user to make the changes if necessary, based on what I suggested above, that perhaps a pop-up window would come up and give the app user the opportunity to change the route, if necessary. The app should not do this automatically. It happens more often than you know. I’ve tried to get inRoute to change this before and they always tell me that when you’re sharing it, the other person needs to have the same settings. Well, my answer to that is when they download the map after I’ve shared it there is a selection that they can say “adjust”, and it will adjust the settings on their app to match the settings that the route was created with. And they still have issues. Other than this, I think it’s a great app. I’ve used it for nearly 3 years and they have made many improvements several of which I have suggested because of the industry I’m in. It’s still the best app out there for planning a route, especially multi-state routes.
  • Directions

Needs to speed the directions while on a phone call instead of just beep.
  • Not a fan of the navigation

The GPS map doesn’t spin around and stays North to South no matter what direction you’re driving and makes directions very difficult.
  • Great app

Rated four star because gps or maps need to be updated and the buttons could be a more user friendly.
  • Good but,

Only 4 because of Apple Maps. Would be great if I could highlight railroad tracks and crossings when I ask for them. This app is used by a lot of truck drivers who move oversized loads. More information is better. Thank you.
  • I like this app

This is my first time writing a review for an app. I enjoy using it as it helps me plan my trip before I leave. I gave it four stars simply because I couldn't find good sound quality, and the road highlights on the map are quite thick when zoomed out.
  • Don’t Update

Worked great until the update. Now it won’t even open. Have uninstalled, reinstalled, restated phone, and everything else I can think of. Emailed company and no response. Would like to receive the service I pay for.
